Staying on the Apple Isle, another excellent summer destination is our Bay of Fires Walk. Heading to Victoria, our three-day Great Ocean Walk showcases the best of the dramatic Shipwreck Coast – and once again accommodation is first-class. You’ll be staying at the Alkina Lodge. Designed by renowned architects, Glenn Murcutt and Wendy Lewin, the lodges were designed to ‘touch this earth lightly’ and maintain a minimal carbon footprint. The lodges are fitted with only the most luxurious of features, including north-facing windows to allow light to pour in and a bespoke wood fireplace. Plus the food… where do we start! View our Great Ocean walk.
FOUR. SPARKLING LIGHT TO LIGHT
One of New South Wales’ best-kept secrets is the amazing Light to Light Walk situated on the Sapphire Coast near Eden. This scenic 30km walk winds its way from the historic Lighthouse at Boyds Tower to the charming 1883 Lighthouse at Green Cape. Its dramatic landscape is a kaleidoscope of contrasts from the striking 320 million years old red rocky outcrops to open coastal heathland dotted with fairy-like wildflowers, thick groves of tea tree or paperbark trees as well as Eucalypt forests. And there’s plenty of sparkling clear water to cool off in along the way. And topping it off you’ll be staying beach site in the boutique and luxurious Seahorse Hotel with plates of local seafood to enjoy too. View our Light to Light walk.
FIVE. GLORIOUS CAPE TO CAPE WALK
And the final summer destination we’d like to share is the four-day Cape to Cape in WA’s Margaret River region. We showcase the best walking sections of this pristine coastline, wandering along high limestone cliffs for magnificent views as well as meandering through pretty coastal heathland and idyllic forests.
